My First Year at Bushey Meads

As my first year at Bushey Meads draws to a close, I can look back reflectively at what a year it has been.

First and foremost, as a geographer, I have been able to teach an eclectic range of topics this year. From volcanoes, climate change, crime to Canada – teaching and delivering schemes of work is at the forefront of my role. It is the students that shape this experience and I would personally like to thank many of them for making me feel so welcome!

Since Day 1, being a CDC to 7Sycamore has been nothing but a delight. Seeing you grow and flourish in confidence has been a privilege.

This year has been filled with many memorable moments including trips to Mountfitchet Castle with Year 7, geography fieldwork in King’s Cross with y13 and x2 Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) expeditions with Year 11.

Seeing my Year 11 class through their GCSEs and Year 13 through their A-Levels has been incredibly rewarding. I wish both year groups every success with their results respectively.

I look forward to seeing what next year brings as my journey at Bushey Meads continues.
