World Bee Day
May 20th is recognised as World Bee Day.
From pollinating our crops to producing honey, bees give us many of the foods we love. But did you know…? They’re vital for biodiversity.
On Monday, Year 8 geographers took the opportunity to recognise the occasion; researching why bees play such an important part for the world’s ecosystems.
Anisia (8S) shared the following quote she found with the class “Bees are a vital part of our ecosystem and today is a great opportunity to raise awareness of the essential role bees and other pollinators play in keeping people and the planet healthy”.
Amiee (8A) shared a range of different strategies we as a society can do to help save the planet and sustain bee populations. Environmental stewardship is something we can all start to show in our day-to-day lives.
Students worked exceptionally hard, putting together some excellent pieces of work. Well done Year 8!
