For our first unit of study in English at Bushey Meads School, we have been looking at Mythology. During our first lesson, we had the chance to create our own mythical creatures and created a story to tell the myth our creature was involved in.
For example, Zoe Spanbok (7Beech), created a magical fairy that is able to spread kindness for all.
The myth we have been currently reading is Theseus and the Minotaur and as part of our study of the myth we completed a question and answer interview with the half man, half bull character of the Minotaur. This gave us a chance to think about the Minotaur’s unspoken perspective and gave his character the chance to justify his evil actions.
We performed our questions and answers in the form of a TV chat show interview. This was particularly fun as some groups made their performances quite humorous and engaging to watch and listen to.
We are all really enjoying our English lessons so far as they are fun and challenging.
