Enriching and Engaging workshops for GCSE...

On our first Enrichment Day, the Year 10 GCSE dance students took part in excellent dance workshops with industry professionals. They had a look at various dance styles, from contemporary, to musical theatre, and ended the day with commercial.

They learnt set repertoire from Shrek the Musical, taught by Lashane Williams who has just finished being in the West End show! He is now going on to do even more fantastic shows in the Musical Theatre world, so the students were incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to work with him, learn from him and ask questions before he becomes very busy touring the UK with his next production. They were also lucky enough to learn from Miss Joannou’s lifelong dance teacher, Tania Chrysanthou who has featured in music videos for people such as The Blazin’ Squad, Robbie Williams and Girls Aloud.

The workshops were challenging and fast paced, but our students kept up and performed exceptionally well. I was so impressed by the level of professionalism that the students portrayed to our visiting speakers as well as the hard work and dedication that they put in on this day. Well done year 10 dancers!
