Last year our annual Sports Day, which is one of the highlights of our year, had to be an online event. It was highly successful in the challenging circumstances we faced and resulted in Willow House gaining the prestigious trophy at the end of 2020. This year we return to the usual concept of a physical, live event and one that has extra significance in the light of coming out of a very difficult year and needing to encourage as many children as possible to get active once again. Our outstanding Head of Faculty Mr Cartledge has had to make major adjustments to this year’s event though to retain the integrity of the year group bubbles and we would like to thank him and his team for all their hard work in setting up what will undoubtedly be a wonderful sporting occasion in the life of our school.
At Staff Briefing on Monday morning he outlined how the event will be organised and reminded all Character Development Coaches of their important role in supporting students getting involved in the various events taking place – including the hugely popular Tug of War. We hope that all children get involved and really enjoy the experience of taking part. Good luck everyone!
