Mobile Phones and Online Safety

Last week, students sat in an important assembly focused on online safety and the responsible use of mobile phones. We discussed the importance of making safe choices online, understanding the risks associated with social media, and using technology responsibly. The dangers of AI and how we can use AI safely.

As part of our ongoing commitment to creating a safe and focused learning environment, we are introducing mobile phone pouches for all Year 7 students. This will help establish positive habits from the start of their secondary school journey and ensure that mobile phones do not distract from learning or social interactions throughout the school day.

We would like to remind all students that mobile phones are expected to be switched off and stored away in accordance with the school’s mobile phone policy. Students must follow staff instructions and understand that mobile phones should never interfere with lessons, learning or the safety and wellbeing of others.
