At Bushey Meads School and across the Bushey St James multi academy trust we take the professional development of our staff really seriously. The more we develop and share best practice as teachers and Learning Assistants the better our classroom pedagogy can become and the more progress all learners will make over time.

Our annual Trust Conference is taking place on Monday 2nd November and we are delighted to be able to welcome Tom Sherrington as our keynote speaker to launch the day and lead one of the 14 workshops on offer. Tom is an experienced former Headteacher and teacher, having worked in schools for 30 years since starting his training in 1986. He is now a leading professional in the world of education consultancy and heads up teacherhead consulting. He has a passion for working with teachers and school leaders to explore and implement contemporary educational ideas that help deliver an excellent all-round education for all young people.

He regularly contributes to conferences and CPD sessions locally and nationally and is busy working in schools and colleges across the country and around the world. He has published a number of books including Teach Now! Science,The Joy of Teaching Science and The Learning Rainforest. He has been a part of the following schools Winstanley College, Wigan, Holland Park School, Notting Hill, Alexandra Park School, Haringey, the British International School, Jakarta, King Edward VI Grammar School, Chelmsford and Highbury Grove in North London. He is also one of the founding Trustees of the National Baccalaureate Trust.

All our professional development benefits the students in our care so we are hoping that the conference is a significant moment in time for us as a school and a multi academy trust.
