Loving Literacy and Reading
Lead Practitioner Ms Druce led the Friday Faculty Focus for all staff in our Staff Briefing meeting at the end of last week.
She reminded staff of the importance of recognising good literacy in students’ work and supporting them to make great progress as they respond to our smart marking and feedback.
After half term our Marking and Feedback Fortnight will celebrate and share best practice in this key area of school life. Her presentation gave us the chance to be reminded of the literacy marking codes and also encouraged us to plan ahead to share in each faculty strategies that we are using to support the development of literacy across the school.
All this work is complimented by our ongoing focus on Word of the Week and our Friday CDC Reading, which always makes for a purposeful and calm start to the day.
