Food glorious food

In the D&T department our talented students have cooked up another batch of food-inspired cushions!

Inspired by favourite foods, students translated their love for food into vibrant and unique cushion designs. Students delved into the world of textiles, learning various techniques and concepts to bring their ideas to fruition. The challenge? To reimagine everyday food items as cosy cushions that would be appealing as a souvenir for the Food Museum.

Students embarked on the journey of transforming fabrics into pizza slices, oversized sushi rolls with some made into comical characters with faces. Students experimented with different fabrics, textures, and embellishments to capture the essence of their chosen food items, whilst developing their machine skills.

Well done to all the students who worked hard with this project, we look forward to seeing what the final groups cook up next!
