Yr 7 chefs of the week!
Since the beginning of this term, I have had the pleasure of teaching Year 7 food and nutrition lessons and I have been really impressed by the productivity and teamwork I have seen my Year 7’s demonstrating.
So far, students have learnt and developed some important skills including, safe knife skills, creating balanced dishes like cous cous salad, making warm meals such as a one-pot pasta dish as well as some baked breakfast muffins and flapjacks.
Each week, during our practicals I look out for pairs or trios who are working particularly well in terms of being able to follow the recipe independently, working tidily, sharing the responsibilities and taking the initiative to adapt the recipe by adding extra ingredients.
Over the past few weeks, the following students have stood out, demonstrating these things and I am pleased to share that they have been awarded my ‘Chef of the week’ award. Well done to Georgi Yonov, Alex Silaghi, Ashley Evans, Ollie Harper, Ellis Sheridan, Evie-Grace Wakeling, Emily Bridges, Alannah Bees, Leilani Jacobs-Beauchamp, Henry Smith, Shiven Bhatt, Jasper Leung and Pedro Karagulian. Here are just a few snaps of them in action!
