Practising Interview Skills
Our hard working Year 11 students are balancing the pressures of working towards their GCSE examinations at the end of the year, but also thinking ahead to their next steps beyond Year 11 – whether that is applying for the outstanding Sixth Form here at Bushey Meads, or venturing out beyond the school to college or to start a junior apprenticeship in the workplace.
Whichever route they take, they will inevitably have to participate in an interview at some stage in the next few years, so it was very timely to be able to hone and practise their interview skills in PSHE (Personal and Social Education) lessons last week.
I was very impressed with how focussed they were and keen to succeed. Several groups were even confident enough to role play their interviews to the class which enabled us to highlight the strengths and identify any areas to improve further.
