Pastoral Newsletter articles Autumn Term

Half term is finally here – and it’s very well deserved! You’ve all been working incredibly hard this term, whether it’s been in lessons, revising for tests, completing homework, taking part in clubs, or supporting your friends. We’re proud of the effort you’ve shown, and this break is a great opportunity to relax, reset, and recharge.

Here are a few important reminders to help you stay safe and well over the week.

🚶 Out and About? Stay Street Smart

  • Stick with friends – You’re safer (and usually have more fun!) when you’re not alone.
  • Keep people informed – Always tell a parent, carer, or responsible adult where you’re going and when you’ll be back.
  • Stay aware of your surroundings – Keep your phone away when walking and keep music volume low.
  • Avoid isolated areas – Especially after dark. Choose well-lit, busy routes if you’re out in the evening.

📱 Be Smart Online

  • Think before you post – Once it’s out there, it’s hard to take it back.
  • Keep your personal info private – Don’t overshare on social media.
  • Don’t talk to strangers online – If someone you don’t know messages you, don’t engage.
  • Report anything uncomfortable – If something doesn’t feel right, speak to a trusted adult or report it via the platform.

📢 Quick Reminders

  • Clocks go back one hour on Sunday 26th October – enjoy the extra sleep!
  • School reopens on Tuesday 4th November – be ready for a fresh start and a strong second half of term!

👏 Finally…

Enjoy your well-earned break. Take time for yourself, spend time with people who make you feel good, and stay safe. You’ve done brilliantly so far this year – keep it up!

We look forward to seeing you back soon, refreshed and ready to go.
