More Best Teacher 2024.25 Student Nominations

I would like to once again thank the 310 students who took the time to send in a nomination for their ‘best teacher’ from 2024.25 at the end of the last academic year. All staff received a nomination and found it uplifting to read the wonderfully encouraging citations. Here are a few more of them for you to read:

Congratulations Mr Cox!
He really helped me in English and makes lessons interactive. Year 10 Student

Congratulations Miss Joannou!
She is always encouraging and finds a way to make every lesson fun and interesting. Year 8 Student

Congratulations Ms Druce!
Being very helpful in A Level English. Year 13 Student

Congratulations Mr Lyley!
He doesn’t lecture in lessons like other teachers but actually makes learning enjoyable and easy to understand. Year 10 Student

Congratulations Ms Court!
She is the only member of staff who actually showed care and compassion towards me when I was struggling with my mental health and the only teacher who allowed me to be myself and talk about whatever I needed to for ages at a time. Every-time I come into school she always makes time to see me, have a catch up and check on me. I have never felt so cared for and seen by any member of staff at Bushey Meads apart from Miss Court. She’s helped me in ways I can’t even put into words and overall boosted my confidence and faith in people loads. I wouldn’t be where I am today if she hadn’t been there for everything I needed. I am eternally grateful for her. Year 10 Student

Congratulations Ms Maken-Sood!
She has been very nice with me since I joined this school, trying to make me not feel alone as a new student and she always has made sure that I’m understanding the lesson. Year 9 Student

Congratulations Miss Pearson!
Miss Pearson is someone I feel I could talk about anything and she constantly helps me with my photography course work. Year 12 Student

Congratulations Mr Dawson!
Always supportive and believing in students, will never put students down if they aren’t achieving their full potential, will only push them to do better. Year 13 Student

Congratulations Miss Lloyd!
Always supportive and believing in students, will never put students down if they aren’t achieving their full potential, will only push them to do better. Year 13 Student

Congratulations Miss Bragoli!
Always so sweet and helpful in lessons. Year 10 Student

Congratulations Ms De-Alwis!
Because she is always there when needed and has helped a lot of people including me. Year 10 Student

Congratulations Miss Barker-Dumill!

Congratulations Mr Mitman!
Sense of humour and passion for teaching. Year 12 Student

Congratulations Mr Johnson!
He’s a chill guy. Year 10 Student

Congratulations Ms Karunathilake!
She constantly spends time on revision lessons after school and genuinely cares about our wellbeing and education. She puts a lot of time in our lessons and I appreciate what she does a lot; not many teachers will help you revise for two hours after school. She actually cares about her students. Year 10 Student
