This half term has been full of achievement for the Willow House students. We have had some great events take place in the School this term and there are still many to come!
Firstly, I would like to once again congratulate the Year 8 Boys who won the Inter-House Football tournament. The boys were captained by Kuba and won every match they played. The boys were super lucky to have such an experienced manager by their side in Mrs Selliah. In a post match interview, Mrs Selliah quoted “I am really proud of my Character Development Group”.
Please see the group picture below and be sure to congratulate them if you see them around school! From my point of view it was great to see Ash finish 2nd to us, so I could have some bragging rights over Mr Tenga. Mr Tenga refused to comment on the matter. Willow finished joint second overall in the Inter-House sports event, an incredible achievement!!! The sports that were played included Football, Basketball and Netball.
Moreover, I had the chance to see Year 7 Willow take part in International Dance Day on Thursday 29th April. They were led by Mrs Siddiqui and Mrs Malik who showed some great moves. Everyone in the class participated and a few special mentions must go to Scarlett, Chloe, C-J, Luca and Rakesh. It was so great to see smiles on everyone’s faces, I think everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Whilst all of these events have been going on, there are still a number of Willow House students who simply cannot stop receiving reward points! Briana in Year 7 is sitting 7th in the leaderboard for all students in the school and has been receiving reward points for “outstanding contributions”, “wonderful effort” and “always having a positive attitude”. I could certainly go on, keep up the great work Briana, your first year at Bushey Meads School has been an incredible one!
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the best to all Year 11 and Year 13 students who are currently sitting their end of year assessments. Remember, do your best and everything will work out the way it’s planned. The best advice I can give to you is make sure you eat something substantial before an exam because when the brain works hard, it needs fuel!
All the best!
