Sixth Form Royal Opera House Design...

On Thursday of this week four outstanding Sixth Form students presented their amazing art work to me as the Executive Principal as part of a design competition for the world acclaimed Royal Opera House. Each student had chosen a specific Director’s vision and was required to explain how they had decided to approach this vision. They then had to present the final posters they had designed to publicise Romeo and Juliet to a teenage audience (particularly those who had not experienced opera before). Their poster had to reflect the text and themes of Romeo and Juliet and the extensive development work that the students had gone through to arrive at their final design and experimentation with a range of techniques also had to be considered. It was an extremely difficult task as the standard of their work was incredible but huge congratulations goes to Christina pictured here with her winning design. She had to rush off to the Art Department straight afterwards as the chosen entry needed to be filmed discussing their portfolio and uploaded to the Royal Opera House website by noon the same day!
