This week marked an exciting milestone in our Vertical Character Development Programme as students from Ash, Beech, Elm, Maple, Sycamore, Oak and Willow Houses came together to shape the future identity of their house communities.
As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening house culture and belonging, students were given a unique opportunity to contribute to a project that will leave a lasting legacy within the school. Seven pillars in the school restaurant are set to be transformed, with each pillar representing one of our seven house communities.
Students were challenged to design their house pillar, thinking carefully about the values, strengths and characteristics that make their house unique. The activity encouraged creativity, collaboration and reflection, as students considered how best to visually represent their shared identity and community spirit. Alongside the pillar designs, students were also invited to reimagine their house shields. Through discussion and teamwork, students explored what makes their house special and how these qualities could be captured in a powerful and memorable design.
The response from students has been outstanding. The designs being produced showcase not only artistic talent but also a deep understanding of the values that underpin our house system.
The completed designs will now be gathered together and developed into final concepts before being brought to life. This project is a wonderful example of the Vertical Character Development Programme in action.
We look forward to seeing the finished artwork take pride of place within the school and serve as a lasting symbol of our thriving house communities!
