Working Together

Spring term is off to a great start for our student cohort, and with last week’s theme of ‘working together’, collaboration and teamwork has been everywhere in the school community. From the year 11-13 art faculty trip to the progression of this year’s production of ‘Seussical the Musical’, students have been collaborating across year groups and departments to truly embrace every challenge that is put towards them.

For the A level and GCSE students, since results afternoon last week, there has been a notable change in morale throughout the student body, and as a student myself I have seen increased teamwork in group revision sessions and peer work.

For the lower school and the year 12s, the efforts of the vertical tutoring form groups has really highlighted this theme of ‘working together’ – students from all different year groups collaborating on their charity work and embodying the qualities of Bushey Meads students that the school is so proud of.

Presenting in the Maple house assembly this week, I saw firsthand the vertical tutoring groups, students from entirely separate year groups collaborating, and embracing the week’s theme of ‘working together’.

As we go on with the term, I have no doubt that this teamwork and sense of community will persist, and contribute to the environment that is so uniquely Bushey Meads!
