Engaging Everyone in Learning
At Bushey Meads teachers are always looking for ways to increase engagement in learning, measure progress and adapt lessons to ensure maximum achievement.
The use of mini whiteboards is a great way to see what all students in the class know. From their responses shown on the mini whiteboards teachers can ask additional questions  to deepen understanding and challenge misconceptions. Last week Ms Booth’s Year 10 class were effectively using mini whiteboards to prepare them for tackling some complex density calculations.
Throughout the lesson all students made steady progress and could see the next steps they needed to take. The learning journey built effectively on prior knowledge and constantly moved the learning on. A real variety of techniques and activities were used which kept the engagement and focus very high. As a result all students made great progress.

I would like to congratulate Ms Booth, our outstanding Head of Science, and the Year 10 students for their hard work and effort. I wish them well for the future as top scientists in the school.
