Outstanding BMS Alumni

It is always superb to hear about the ongoing success of some of our ex-students as they continue to Aspire to Achieve beyond BMS. Last week I heard from the parents of Christina De Venny who left Bushey Meads nearly 5 years ago and went off to study Occupational Therapy at Plymouth University. As shown in the photo, 18 months ago she graduated with a First Class Honours degree.

Her parents attribute her success to the school’s input into her secondary education. They recognise that she had some fantastic, inspiring teachers (studying Design and Technology to AS Level and Art, Psychology and Biology to A-Level) during her sixth form years. They particularly mentioned Mrs Hoskins, Miss Pattni and Mr Chalkley and the great teaching and advice they provided.

Christina is now working as an Occupational Therapist in a local hospital, thoroughly enjoying her new career and this week has started mentoring her own student. Her older brother Luke graduated in 2018 and Georgia (her younger sister) is in her last few days of A-Levels with us currently, very much hoping to follow in her siblings’ footsteps and head off to university in September.
Christina’s parents know that each of their children spent seven extremely happy years at Bushey Meads and they stated that they feel very grateful for their wonderful education in such a supportive environment.
It was a lovely email to get and credit to the superb teaching staff at Bushey Meads and the wonderful learning environment that we are all part of.
