Secondary School Experience Day Feedback from Hartsbourne Primary School

Secondary School Experience Day Feedback...

Normally at this time of year we offer a Secondary School Experience Week to all the Year 6 students in our Multi Academy Trust, irrespective of whether or not they are intending to join us here in September. This year, despite the understandable restrictions, we have still been able to offer them Secondary School Experience Days. Attending in their Year 6 Bubbles of up to 15 children, they arrived at Bushey Meads for a secondary school type assembly and enjoyed a variety of lessons starting with a well-planned geographical orienteering task around the school site.

This was a message of thanks we received from one of the Hartsbourne Parents following his Secondary School Experience Day at Bushey Meads:

Good afternoon,

Just a little note to say “Thank You” to Hartsbourne and Bushey Meads for today’s secondary school experience day. Even in this challenging time I am so amazed how much has been done for our Year 6 groups.

Our son had a wonderful day at Bushey Meads and is now slightly miffed he’s going to JFS not BMS! Please pass on my thanks to all the staff at Bushey Meads. Kindest regards,

Year 6 HPS Parent

This was the feedback we received from the Deputy Headteacher at Hartsbourne Primary School Mr Harper.

Dear Mr Turner,

Just a quick message to say thank you to yourself and all of the staff who worked with our Year 6 students today. It was a fantastic Secondary School Experience Day (as expected) and the children had a great time. Given the number of transition day cancellations, it was an invaluable opportunity for them to experience that secondary school environment ahead of September and definitely felt like a treat for them, which are also few and far between at the moment!  I must also comment on how well organised and structured the day was, and how well your staff worked together to deliver a lovely assembly and three brilliant lessons for the children, as well as all of the efforts made to maintain hand hygiene and social distancing. It’s one of those days when I feel very fortunate to be a part of our Multi Academy Trust and I know our families really appreciated it too.

Best wishes,

Greg Harper
