Secondary School Experience Week
It was lovely to have 90 Year 6 students from the two Trust primary schools, Hartsbourne and Little Reddings, spend the week at Bushey Meads from Monday 25th June. The students were fully immersed in the busy life of a secondary school and had taster lessons across a wide range of specialist subjects.
The week is an important part of the secondary transition process and allows the students to build their confidence and overcome any fears about moving to Year 7.
The students had an amazing experience across the week as these comments demonstrate:

“It was a really valuable experience and the children and teachers were very welcoming. I think Bushey Meads must be a very good school!” – Manav, HPS
“It was really helpful if you’re going to Bushey Meads in September because you get a head-start on what it will be like. However, even if you aren’t going to Bushey Meads, it’s still helpful so you know what secondary school will be like.” – Lana, Samuel and Jessica, HPS
“It taught us to be independent and take more responsibility for ourselves.” – Grace, Chloe and Emily, HPS
‘My experience at Bushey Meads School was brilliant.  It was great to have a feel for what secondary school is like!’ – Oliver, LRS
‘My experience at Bushey Meads was amazing because all the staff were friendly, we had fun lessons and the lunchtime food was delicious!’ – Sophie, LRS
‘I liked my experience at Bushey Meads as we got to learn a variety of different subjects. My favourites were Dance, Drama, Music and Art’ – Shehani, LRS
