For the tenth year running A-level and GCSE results have continued to build on the excellent foundations laid by staff and students at BMS and at the end of another academic year of continued challenges in education, students on results day 2024 for GCSE and A Levels celebrated some outstanding successes. Their achievements marked the culmination of another year of excellent academic and personal success for students at the school.

Post 16 Headline figures are:

 

  • 97% of students achieved a pass grade
  • 74% of students achieved grades of C or above (up 5% from 2023)
  • 44% of students achieved A* – B grades
  • 23% of students achieved the top grades of an A* or A (up 6% from 2023)

 

GCSE Key Headline Figures:

  • 9 – 7: 16%
  • 9 – 4: 59%
  • 5+ 9 – 4: 52%
  • 5+ 9 – 4 including English & Maths: 51%
  • 9 – 1: 96%
  •  9 – 4 in English: 77%
  • 9 – 4 in Maths: 68%
  • 9 – 4: 2 Sciences: 46%, MFL: 100%, Humanities: 68%

 

Top Sixth Form Students in 2024 include:

 

  • Megan Callaghan achieving an A* in Media Studies and Sociology and an A in Photography
  • Aatesh Thirucumaran achieving an A* in Computer Science and an A in Further Maths, Maths and Physics
  • Harrison Taylor Craft achieving an A* in Maths and an A in Economics and Further Maths
  • Amy Deutron achieving an A* in Photography, an A in EPQ and a B in Politics and Psychology
  • Maria Popa achieving an A in English, Media Studies, Religious Studies and EPQ
  • James Meloy achieving an A in Design & Technology, Maths and Physics
  • Anton Brown achieving an A in Maths and French and a B in Economics and Music
  • Alex Law achieving an A in Biology and Chemistry and a B in Maths and EPQ
  • Olivia Rattley achieving an A in English Literature and EPQ and a B in Art and Drama & Theatre Studies

All our students have made us so proud and really epitomise the strong culture of achievement that is reflected in our school motto Aspire to Achieve; so many of them have achieved their dreams and we wish them well for their exciting futures ahead of them.
