Celebrating Black History Through Literature

Find out more about the issues surrounding Black History Month by exploring our display in the library featuring books on famous campaigners, activists, sports people and topics such as the slave trade and civil rights. We are also showcasing the work of writers of African American descent – from well-known classics like Small Island by Andrea Levy to new releases such as On The Come Up by Angie Thomas – but don’t delay as some have already been borrowed! Remember, if you’d like to borrow one of the books, please see one of the librarians to check it out.

Alternatively, if you can’t make it to the library enter Black History into the search box on Reading Cloud to see all the available non-fiction and email turtont@busheymeads.org.uk with your request.
