Caterlink Catering at Student Parliament

On Thursday 30th January, our BMS Student Parliament gathered for our third meeting of the year. Through both the student suggestion box and CDC representatives there were many suggestions and issues relating to our restaurant and food services being put forward from our student body. In response to this, it was great to have Alex, our Caterlink Catering manager, and two of his key staff attend the Student Parliament meeting to address these issues in person. Many questions were posed and the answers given by Alex and his team really helped the students better understand and accept certain points. Student suggestions were taken on board and where possible, positive actions decided on. The second half of our Student Parliament meeting gave each House an opportunity to discuss the key issues raised form each of their CDC groups and decide on the highest priority issue for that House. These were then discussed with the whole of Student Parliament. This method of cascading issues from student to CDC group to House to Student Parliament to our staff Senior Leadership team really allows student voice to be heard and improvements made around the school in line with what our students want. Our Executive Principal, Mr Turner, and his team of senior leaders take every issue raised very seriously and where possible, actions are taken. Where change is not possible, a response to improve understanding is given. In this way, our school community continue to work together to continuously improve Bushey Meads School. Thank you to all members of Student Parliament and their valuable contribution to our journey of continuous school improvement.
