The first Study Saturday of 2018 saw an impressive start to the final countdown to the all important forthcoming GCSE and A level examinations.
A number of Sixth Form students who remember attending every single Study Saturday in 2016 (to prepare for their GCSEs in Year 11) were back again – knowing that the discipline of attending really helps them realise their true potential and nail those top grades that open so many exciting doors in the future. Many students were makign the most of the access to high speed internet access, free printing and all the superb PiXL Knowledge resources and extensive range of past papers available in our new look LRC.
With advice and encouragement on hand from LRC Manager Mr Back, the atmosphere across all four rooms was very purposeful and motivating.
A number of Year 11 students told me the main reasons for attending their first every Study Saturday at BMS……
“We liked to idea of working together with others, as it is motivational and will spur us on to achieving our potential at this crucial time of year.”
“It is great to have access to all the resources, computers and printing facilities, as it makes it easier to work smartly.”
“It is good to come into school with a speacific purpsoe and go home at 2.00 pm knowing that you have achieved your goal.”
Students in the LRC and Art rooms on Saturday were working hard – making the most of an extended period of time and access to all the relevant resources to aid their achievements as they prepare for their up coming examinations.
Refreshments were provided to keep the students hydrated.
