As a teacher who has been teaching for the best part of two decades, I can quite confidently say the current year has been the toughest for me. I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in this. I know many of our students have found the arts particularly challenging when faced with lockdown interrupting their studies. Our arts students have missed working in groups, lost access to creative working spaces, and had time spent on creating art limited. However, our students have continued to produce great work and have taken every opportunity to use what we have offered in the arts to find enjoyment in their work.
