It was utterly inspiring to hear our Community Leaders speak at the Full Governors Meeting held on Wednesday evening of this week. The kindness they are showing to members of our local community who are less fortunate than ourselves brought some of us near to tears; we were so moved.
Some of the key things they have been doing include training as Dementia Friends and visiting one of our local care homes to befriend the residents, play board games with them, share the different ways that we celebrate Christmas and even entertain them with dancing! They also explained to the Governors about the recent whole school House initiative to donate food for our local Red Trust Food Bank; literally hundreds of donations were made by generous students and staff across our caring learning community – our school really does have a Mind to Be Kind!
