Over the easter holidays 14 members of the Year 10 GCSE PE class were in school completing 2 days of training for the Level 1 Sports Leadership qualification. The PE Faculty is very proud of the work of the sports leaders in school and this new group again showed the high standards we have come to expect from BMS Sports Leaders.
They completed units on the skills and qualities required to be an effective sports leader, verbal and non verbal communication skills, motivation, behaviour management and the organisation of a sports session.
The group finished by delivering 25 minute coaching sessions to their peers. The group will now take these leadership skills into the classroom and will be involved in delivering sessions to their own year group as well as working with the new Year 7 students as part of their induction later in the term.
The group worked really hard and we have been very impressed by their positive attitude to leadership. We look forward to following their progress over the next few months.
Group :Jamie, Nathan, Keiran, Vedant, Alex, Archie, Vanshita, Khushali, Angela, Pavit, Dinujha, Lakshaa, Anais, Kaitlyn
