Word Root of the Week: Port

This week’s word root is port, which means “to carry.” You may not realize it, but port shows up in many words you use every day.

For example, an airport is a place that helps “carry” people or goods by air. A portable speaker is something easy to “carry” around. And when you import or export goods, you “carry” them into or out of a country. What other words with port can you think of?
