A hat-trick from K Larkin was the highlight and boys now wait to see if the goal difference will be good enough for a place in the League Final.

Year 8 Boys v Westfield  (District League) AWAY  Mr Burnell

Commended performances : L. Khan, R. Hodgson, K. Walker, F. Gee.

Comment : Monday saw the year 8 team play their final league game of the season against a strong Westfield team. The team started well and scored early on in the first half. However Westfield grew into the game and equalised before half time to make it 1-1 at the break. The team started slowly in the second half and conceded two quick goals. They created a number of changes throughout the match to score but unfortunately could not put the ball in the back of the net. Overall it’s been an excellent season for everyone involved in the team. Well done to everyone who played for the team this season.

NETBALL

Year 10 Girls v WGGS  (District League) AWAY  Mrs Cooper

Date : Monday 11th December 2023

Result : Lost 11-13

Squad : V.Hill, S.Doran, E.Bird, A.Gibson, I.Palan, L.Qarib, M.Bazile, Z.O’Brart

Commended performances : S.Doran for some fantastic movement and shooting.

Comment : A close game but disappointing result for the year 10 teams in a game that could have gone either way. A slow start from both teams meant the scoreline was low going into the end of the first quarter. The girls struggled to string their passes together and although made lots of good turnover balls they failed to capitalise on this. The second half of the match was much improved from both teams WGGS edged ahead in the third quarter and sadly despite their best efforts the BMS team were unable to reduce the deficit.  As always it was a pleasure to take this team to a fixture.  Thanks go to Mr James for his support!
