Great Leaders and Team Players at BMS

Teamwork and leadership are two really important life attributes that we take very seriously at Bushey Meads School. All staff are encouraged to strongly develop these character traits in all our students. These attributes set our students apart at job interviews, when they write their UCAS applications or CVs and when they leave our Sixth Form and start a whole host of superb courses at the country’s top universities or begin excellent apprenticeship opportunities.

Michael Jordan stated that “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.”

Andrew Carnegie reminded us that “No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself, or to get all the credit for doing it.”

Over the last two weeks I have witnessed some excellent examples of staff developing leadership and teamwork across all subject areas in the school. The photos show just two examples from the PE and Health Faculty involving our Year 8 Basketball Team who went on to win their match convincingly listening intently to Mr Cartledge our superb Head of Faculty for PE and Health and Assistant Headteacher Mrs Wright inspiring the Year 7 Netball Team between the 3rd and 4th quarter of their match against Rickmansworth last week.
