I have written this poem to reflect how many of us are feeling at the moment. I was inspired by some pictures of snowdrops that a friend had recently posted on facebook. It reminded me that we are all part of a natural cycle, the world turns, the moon waxes and wanes, the tides come and go, Spring follows Winter as Summer follows Spring and so forth. This pandemic is a season that will eventually pass.
Passing Season
Dark nights
Dark days
Nobody says
“Are you coming out?”
Stay in
Don’t stand out
We’re given doubt
“What will happen next?”
Horizons brightened
No longer frightened
Spring brings hope
To help us cope
Evenings lighter
Days are brighter
All across the land
I’ll soon hold your hand
