Boosting mental health – parkrun

This week’s theme of the week has been about mental health and what we can do to boost our own mental health and that of others. Exercise has been proven to boost mental well being as has being part of a community. Parkrun combines these two as well as being great for physical health.

Parkrun is a free, community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. parkrun is 5k and takes place every Saturday morning. junior parkrun is 2k, dedicated to 4-14 year olds and their families, every Sunday morning.

Parkrun is positive, welcoming and inclusive, there is no time limit and no one finishes last. Everyone is welcome to come along.

The three nearest parkruns to school are; Cassiobury park, South Oxhey and Rickmansworth Aquadrome. The nearest junior parkrun is just across road from school in King Georges park.

It costs nothing to enter, all you need to do is register (link below) and turn up for your chosen event.
