Planting Bulbs at Little Reddings School

On Monday 5th February 2018 the Eco-Leaders and three Senior Prefects from Bushey Meads School were generous enough to give up their lunchtime and lesson 5 to visit Little Reddings Primary School, in order to help some year 5 students plant a variety of bulbs that were kindly donated to them.

This was a great opportunity for the Eco-Leaders to showcase their desire to help improve and maintain the environment. Working closely with one of our connected schools was beneficial because it allowed us to develop our leadership skills as well as the links between the students.

After the event, we asked a few students what they thought of the experience and we received a lot of positive feedback. For example one of the Eco-Leaders, Nehal Pabari, said “it was fun and enjoyable and I would love to do it again”. One of the Senior Prefects commented “it was a really nice experience because we were able to actively be a part of the Bushey St James’ Trust and help the local community”.

Despite the cold weather, we had an enjoyable time and hope to work with Little Reddings again in the future. We would like to thank Miss Simmonds and the rest of Little Reddings for allowing to be a part of this project and being as lovely as always.
