The SAM Learning 10 Hour Challenge took place between Monday 1st April – Monday 22nd April in which students were encouraged to complete 10 hours of study on SAM Learning.
The competition headline figures for each year group are as follows:
Year 7 |
Year 8 |
Year 9 |
Year 10 |
Year 11 |
The certificates and prizes were awarded to students during assemblies this week. Every student who achieved 10 hours or more received a certificate and the student who had accumulated the highest number of hours in each year group received an Amazon Kindle Fire 7. The winners in each year group were:
A huge congratulations to all of the students who attempted the challenge and a special mention to those who achieved 10 hours or more – well done!
The rationale behind the competition was to increase the amount of learning taking place to support student progress. Studies have shown that students who use SAM Learning for 10 hours or more are likely to achieve 1 GCSE grade better in 2 subjects as well as a +0.20 increase in their Progress 8 score (they will make more progress between Years 7-11).
There will be more SAM Learning competitions next year and I would love for every student to enter.
