ENRICHMENT DAY : YEAR 10 Options Activities
On Friday 29th September the new Year 10 Sports Studies class visited Rickmansworth Aquadrome and spent a day with the Bury Lake Young Mariners as part of the Outdoor Activities unit of the course. The morning was spent sailing and the afternoon completing a raft building challenge. The group showed both initiative and dedication to master the challenges and our hosts and instructors were very impressed by the efforts of the group. It was a very enjoyable day and the group can look forward to further trips later in the year.

Comment : The Senior boys team made a winning start to the season with a convincing 9-2 won over Reach Free. The boys dominated the game playing some good passing football at times and also showing good organisation at the back. A very positive start to the season with some well taken goals.
Year 9 Boys v Parmiters (District League) AWAY Mr Harris

Result: Lost 6 – 3
Scorers: J. Cunningham, K. Gibson, H. Wills
Squad: J. Hiett (GK), K. Gibson, L. Avci, H.Neal, H. McManus, F. Fowler, L. Bird, H. Wills, N. Konopka, J. Cunningham, F. Mordecai, K. Banfield
Commended performances: L. Avci
Comment: A frustrating game on Thursday afternoon vs Parmiters saw us fall to a 6 – 3 defeat. In a game where both teams were relatively well matched, we conceded 4 goals in the same fashion with a single ball played through the defence to an onrushing winger was our downfall. We struggled to deal with this ball on a number of occasions. Despite being 4 – 0 down at half time, we came back into the game in the second half and managed to get the game back to 4 – 3 with a penalty from J. Cunningham, an excellent looping finish by H. Wills and an excellent solo drive from K. Gibson. However, once we got back into the game we lost concentration and made some mistakes and ended up conceding two more goals before the end of the match. The boys worked so hard to try and get back into the game and we missed some excellent chances in the game to get back into it but in the end fell to defeat at Parmiters. We move swiftly onto our next game on Monday evening away to St Joan of Arc.
Year 8A Boys v Reach Free (District League) Home Mr Burnell

Commended performances : K. Walker
Comment : Thursday saw the year 8 team play their second league game of the season against a good Reach Free side. The team started strong and scored early to make it 1-0 after a really good team move. This was how the score stayed until half time. Reach Free started well in the second half and scored two quick goals to put us on the back foot. However, the team equalised with a few minutes to go which set up a really exciting finish. We had a couple of really good opportunities to score and win the game but were unfortunately unable to do so. We even hit the post with the last kick of the game. Another excellent game and plenty of positives to take into the remainder of the season.
Year 8A Boys v Parmiters B (District League) AWAY Mr Burnell

Commended performances : K. Walker, R. Doran, F. Francos, K. Johnson, H. Trueman.
Comment : Tuesday saw the year 8 football team play their third league game of the season against Parmiters B. The game started evenly and the teams were only separated by an excellent long range effort by F.Francos. Parmiters equalised soon after by capitalising on a loose pass. We took the lead again before half time to take a 2-1 lead into the break. In the second half we really dominated the game and scored a number of excellent team goals. Parmiters then got one back with virtually the last kick of the game to make it 8-2. An excellent all round team performance from everyone involved and plenty of positives to take into the next game.
