Stoke Mandeville

On the 2nd and 3rd of October seven BASE students attended the WheelPower National Junior Games held at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium, the birthplace of the Paralympics. The students got the chance to try a whole range of disability sports from wheel chair basketball to hand cycling and to socialize with other students from across the country. On day one the students departed school and upon arrival immediately got started playing polybat, shooting and even power lifting. After a short break for lunch activities resumed with hand cycling around the athletics track. Day two provided the chance to take part in wheelchair basketball among a host of other sports and for the students to finish the trip with a few relaxed games of pool and snooker.  A big thank you to all staff involved!
