Comment: Thursday afternoon saw a cagey game vs St Joan of Arc where the first half was a tight affair where we struggled to get a foothold in the game. We created a few chances but were unable to finish on a number of occasions. At half time we led 1 – 0. Moving into the second half we managed to gain control of the game and whilst we did concede early on, we managed to regain control and score a number more before the end of the game. We finished the game 5 – 1 winners after a number of goals scored from the right hand side, left hand side and a corner.
Year 10 Boys v Grange Academy (District League) AWAY Mr Cartledge

Commended performances : J Gladdy
Comment : A complete game of two halves saw the game end in a draw with the BMS team guilty of throwing away a comfortable lead. An outstanding first half performance saw the boys control the game and go into the break 3-0 in front. However a spirited second half comeback from Grange saw them claw the game back and despite creating several late chances the Year 10 boys could not find a winner.

Comment :The year 7 boys rounded off an excellent first half term of school football with a comfortable win over Parmiters B. The boys have now won 5 out of 6 matches including 4 out of 4 in the League to sit top of the League as we go into the break. Well done to all the boys who have really bonded as a team and are starting to play some very good passing football.

Commended performances: A. Shinkwin, O. Harris
Comment
A hard fought win against a good Rickmansworth side. BMS found themselves in the driving seat early doors creating some good chances. However they eventually found themselves 1-0 within the first 10 minutes. BMS showed great resilience by getting themselves back into the game and quite quickly finding themselves level through K. Mistry. This then pushed the boys to go on and create more chances and not long after this finding themselves in a narrow 2-1 lead at half time by a strike from K. Gorcia. The second half was much the same, lots of battles in the midfield. When Rickmansworth did try to break through on the counter attack our defence stood strong and were up for the challenge. Not long after that we went 3-2 up with a good team goal with P. Soteriou being the scorer. Finally it was a well deserved victory as everyone on the team put in a 100% throughout the match. Now the players can look forward to their upcoming matches in the future.

Comment: An extremely tough encounter vs Rickmansworth against a strong and competitive side. We started well and got an early goal in this game through H. Wills. We managed to maintain this lead until not long before half time. In the second half the goals continued to go back and forth, with us eventually winning the game with a goal by H. McManus to seal the game. A massively competitive game with two physical sides.

Result: Won 4-1
Scorers: A. Permeti 2, D. Towill 2

Commended performances: B. Fowler
Comment: A very solid performance that saw the first win in 2 years for the squad. Pushing hard against a good opposition the chances soon came to BMS and we took the lead. With plenty of pressure put on the opposition the second soon followed. Despite an own goal being scored which brought the game back to 2-1, the girls showed fantastic grit and determination to continue their physical and technical game. Ultimately out working the opposition and having a constant goal threat, when two more goals were scored the game was well won. A great start to the season for the Under 13 squad.
NETBALL
Year 11 Girls v The Grange Academy (League) Away Mrs Cooper
Date : Monday 16th October 2023
Result : Won 18-17
Squad : A Chaudhry, I Payne, E.Hauff, M.Cozens, E.Williams, L.Krikler, S.Mullings, J.Verrey, N.Donald, P.Pryra, E.Avci
Commended performances: A.Chaudhry for a great performance in the shooting circle
Comment: Wow! What a turnaround. After a slow start and disappointing first quarter BMS found themselves with an uphill battle trailing 2-7. With a change around in positions and a request to slow down and keep the ball the girls set about trying to reduce the deficit. Winning the next two quarters they went into the final end 14-15 down. With both teams tiring and the passing on both teams becoming more wayward it was Bushey Meads who edged ahead and managed to maintain their lead to the final whistle. A great team effort from everyone and thanks to everyone who came along in both playing and supporting roles.
Year 7 Girls v The Reach Free (League) Home Mrs Cartledge
Date : Tuesday 17th October 2023
Result : lost 14-2
Squad : R Grainger E Gillett H Herman M Andronicou Z Dunlop E Hughes L Mysiak K Shah
Commended performances: E.Hughes for effective defending
Comment: This was a tough first game for the year 7 team due to the opposition’s height . Despite this the girls did demonstrate some effective passing down court and some strong interceptions by the defenders in the circle. It was difficult for the shooters to gain possession of the ball in the circle due to their tall strong defenders Despite this the girls never gave up and showed determination. We have learnt from the game and will take this knowledge into our training sessions. Well done Girls.
Year 8 Girls v The Reach Free (League) Home Mrs Cooper
Date : Tuesday 17th October 2023
Result : Won 15-8
Squad : J.Isles, M.Hurtya, S.Verrey, A.Permeti, M.Faulkner, B.Barnard-Collins, E.Yeboah, Y.Khan, L.Vincente.
Commended performances: M Hurtya for fantastic movement and shooting.
Comment: After several postponed matches the year 8 team finally got their season underway with an impressive victory that avenged the defeat from the same opposition last year. In a good first quarter the girls took a convincing lead with some slick passing and goal conversions. They were made to work harder in the middle quarters before regaining control and pulling away to secure a well deserved victory.
Year 9 Girls v The Reach Free (League) Home Mrs Cartledge
Date : Tuesday 17th October 2023
Result : Drew 8-8
Squad : A Gibson A Belghiru H Sookhoo R Chudasma E Mullings M Rumney N Edirisuriya N , N Taghi
Commended performances: H Sookhoo for excellent passing and movement on court.
Comment: This was a great game with the girls playing particularly well in the second quarter where they pulled away by 5 goals. Unfortunately Reach Free improved in their attack and defence and by the last quarter the girls were only ahead by 2 goals. A very exciting and close last quarter brought lots of interceptions and great passing. Some excellent defending in the circle restricted their shooting attempts and we finished the game on a drew. As always the girls showed determination, stamina and resilience. Great game and play by all.
Year 7 Girls v Croxley Danes (Friendly) away Mrs Cartledge
Date : Wednesday 18th October 2023
Result : Lost 5-1
Squad : R Grainger E Gillett H Herman M Andronicou Z Dunlop E Hughes L Mysiak K Shah
Commended performances: K Shah for strong defending
Comment: This was a more confident performance by the year 7 team showing good passing and strong interceptions. The girls coped well with playing indoors and slowed down their game to avoid footwork. We can take lots of positives into the next game.
Year 10 Girls v Croxley Danes (League) away Mrs Cartledge
Date : Wednesday 18th October 2023
Result : Lost 13-12
Squad : M Bazile, E Bird, S Doran, L Qarib, I Palan, Z O’Brart, V Hill, L Winslett
Commended performances: M Bazille for fabulous interceptions and L Winslett for great all round court play.
Comment: Wow what a game! It was fast paced and very exciting to the end. In the first quarter Croxley led by one goal. In the second quarter we began to settle and slowed down our passing. By half time the girls led by 2 goals. The third quarter the girls were amazing and found space easily due to their continual running. We pulled away by 5 goals. Unfortunately Reach Free were not giving up and took advantage of a few mistakes and managed to gain the win by one goal. It was a fantastic game and as always the girls did themselves proud.
Year 9 Girls v Parmiters B (League) Home Mrs Cooper
Date : Wednesday 18th October 2023
Result : Won 6-0
Squad : A Gibson, A Belghiru, R Chudasma, E Mullings, M Rumney, N Edirisuriya, N Taghi
Commended performances: A.Gibson for a dominant display of defending
Comment: A great result for the year 9 team, with the weather and traffic creating havoc to the start of this game the playing time was reduced to 30 mins. The first half started slowly but the BMS team managed to score the first goal. In a fast paced game the defences for both teams were called into action frequently and the great communication and teamwork in the BMS team saw them come out on top. In the second half the BMS team took onboard the HT feedback and with some great linkup play and work in the circle managed to convert more chances to secure the deserved victory. A fantastic game from everyone.
