Elm’s enhancement

Elm’s enhancement
In my previous newsletter article, I not only celebrated our successes (as I always do), I addressed a couple of concerns. The biggest of which was our attendance score. I was somewhat unhappy that we were languishing in 4th place with an overall percentage of 89%.
I stood up in assembly shortly after and pointed this out to all the students in my house. My plea was to try and improve our attendance score by just 1% by the next time we met (Our next assembly is on Wednesday 27th November, FYI).
What happened next was even better than I had hoped for. In fact, within just a couple of weeks, we have improved our attendance percentage to 91% which was double the level of improvement I’d asked for.
At the moment, we currently sit on 91.5% and sit proudly at the top of the table.
I am very grateful for your collective efforts to be better at this and the numbers show that as a house, we are taking our education seriously. So, thank you very much for that.
Behaviourwise, things are also going well. Data shows that we are third in the table for total reward points this week and we have the lowest average number of level 5 consequences out of all the houses. Again, I thank you.
I would like to now turn your attention to the upcoming House Arts Competition.
This takes place on Tuesday 26th November 2024. For those that are new to the school, it is an annual event where students compete through creative arts. A theme is chosen (this year is ‘equality & diversity’) and all the entries must fit this theme is some way.
To enter you can:
– Create a piece of artwork
– Create a dance
– Create or perform a piece of drama
– Create or perform a piece of music
– Write a poem
– Submit an original photograph
The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 20th November.
All entrants will receive reward points for their efforts but the winners will receive prizes. These usually come in the form of Amazon vouchers that you can spend on whatever you like.
