Hertfordshire Council and Small Steps would like to invite you to attend a significant and insightful virtual session for parents. This free program aims to foster understanding and prevention of radicalization.
The interactive session will cover critical topics such as Extreme Right-Wing (ERW) Extremism, Faith-Based Extremism, Multiple Ideologies, and the Fascination with Extreme Violence. A unique aspect of this training is that it will be led by a former extremist with an ERW background, offering a firsthand perspective on how distorted narratives can radicalize communities.
The program is designed to equip parents and carers with the knowledge to identify early signs of radicalization, provide their children with tools to challenge online extremism, and build digital resilience. Additionally, it will educate school safeguarding staff on online dangers and how to support parents and caregivers.
This initiative emphasizes understanding, prevention, and empowerment, rather than blame, to enable parents and carers to address hate before it takes root. Please be aware that the discussion will include references to hate crimes, racism, and violence. Together, we can work towards a stronger, more inclusive Hertfordshire by fostering knowledge and challenging extremist ideologies.
