Our GCSE Dance students took center stage in an innovative and inspiring series of presentations, diving deep into the analysis of Infra, one of the set works from the AQA Dance specification.
The presentations, entirely student-led, showcased not only their growing expertise in dance analysis but also their confidence in public speaking and teamwork. Each group took responsibility for examining a key element of the work, creating a presentation and printed hand out to support the other learners in the class.
Students impressed their peers and myself by breaking down complex ideas into accessible and engaging content. They highlighted McGregor’s unique approach to movement, blending contemporary techniques with classical influences, and discussed the impact of these elements on the overall performance.
Group members shared the responsibility of researching and preparing their insights, using video clips, annotated diagrams, and even live demonstrations to support their points. This collaborative process not only deepened their understanding of Infra but also strengthened their ability to work effectively as a team.
Leading these presentations gave students the opportunity to enhance skills vital for both academic success and future careers. I am incredibly proud of our GCSE Dance students for embracing this challenge with such creativity and professionalism. Their presentations serve as a reminder of the power of student-led learning to inspire confidence, independence, and a deeper connection to the subject matter.
