A Very Small Minority are Spoiling it for the Majority

A Very Small Minority are Spoiling it for...

I would like to thank the vast majority of parents and carers who continue to respect our local residents, their driveways and the general safety of the local roads near the school when they are dropping off and picking up their children before and after school.

As we all know, Coldharbour Lane is a narrow road and, with 100s of children entering and leaving school, some of them crossing the road to gain access to the alleyway opposite the main school entrance, we need to be very mindful of their continued safety.

We continue to ask all parents and carers to park a little distance away from the school and encourage all children to walk to their car to avoid the congestion in the immediate vicinity of the school gates. Please do remind yourselves of the travel information on the school website and the options to park and stride:  https://busheymeads.org.uk/parents/travel-information/

Unfortunately, despite recent reminders, a very small minority of parents and carers are entering the car park of our neighbouring special school Meadow Wood School (which educates and supports primary age students who have physical and neurological impairments). This has caused increased traffic chaos to the school who rely on many minibuses and specialist transport to help the children in their care.

One parent and carer has even verbally abused the staff at the school when challenged for entering their private property and this understandably caused great distress. Another parent and carer entered their school and even drove the wrong way round their one way system.

Meadow Wood School has informed the Police but even yesterday a driver of a peugeot vehicle similar to the picture (who we understand to be collecting Bushey Meads School students) failed to respect the situation. If this is you please do show respect to the local community.

Once again I would like to thank the vast majority of parents and carers who are doing the right thing and are helping to make our local area a safe place for the children in our care and in the local community.
