DIRT is Good!

At Bushey Meads School we all know what DIRT is – Dedicated Improvement and Reflection Time. On Monday in our Staff Briefing meeting Miss Smith reminded us all in her Monday Magic Moment of the importance of DIRT; one aspect is that DIRT helps students make the important links between old and new learning.

As parents and carers do look at your children’s books and folders on a regular basis and make sure that they have a purple pen on them at all times.

As you know, all green pen comments made by teachers in their written marking need responding to by the students in their purple pen of progress.

This act (which often takes place in DIRT time) is where the real learning and progress takes place.
