The Design and Technology faculty have really been excited to welcome their new Year 10 GCSE students. The teachers have started the new year with some exciting new projects.
In Food Preparation and Nutrition, the students have been cooking some spicy fajitas and upskilling themselves by learning how to debone the thigh of a chicken! In the theory lesson they are looking at the eatwell guide and how it unpins the our nutritional knowledge
In resistant materials, the students have been learning about automation in manufacturing and industry and enterprise. In the lesson they were sorting the key vocabulary to match the definitions. In our practical lessons students have started to experiment with CAD to create some task light designs.
There has been some really great focus from the year 10 students studying GCSE Electronics. Already they have improved their writing skills and made a prototype circuit.
