Monday Marking and Feedback Focus
Our Monday Magic Moment during our Staff Briefing at the start of the week was led by two of our top English Teachers Mrs McNaughton and Mrs Wilson and had a focus on marking and feedback with a purpose.
It was a good reminder to staff at the start of our third Marking and Feedback Fortnight of the year that quality focussed feedback can support accelerated progress for students of up to an additional 6 months in any academic year. The good practice examples provided in their presentation reminded us that, for some students, effective adaptations are needed to support their responses even more effectively. One example provided was the use of movable sticky targets.
We were also encouraged to make use of our outstanding Learning Assistants who have had bespoke training in the area of student assessment and adaptations and are often there in the classroom to support the teacher and the delivery of quality first teaching for all.
