What’s in store for Bushey Meads?

Beware! Look left and right…

The theme of the week was focused on responsible travel for students. As many pupils at Bushey Meads commute to school using public transport, it is also important that as a community we travel safely and responsibly. Students should always remain seated or holding the handrails, as well as being aware of their surroundings. Giving up priority seats to those less able showcases a mind to be kind to those within our local community. In addition, being courteous to fellow passengers by keeping the noise levels to a minimum and not causing a disturbance.

As well as being aware of our surroundings in public transport, keeping things tidy and squeaky clean not only makes the school environment hygienic but allows students to positively contribute to a cleaner environment. We, students, should make sure to be mindful of your surroundings and have a mind to be kind!

Once upon a time: time to read!

Within the past few weeks, Mr Johnson established a reading scheme for younger students who struggle with reading! Prefect students had an amazing opportunity to assist and support the reading scheme, enabling them to meet new students and have a pleasant bonding experience!

House assembly throughout Bushey Meads: Beech!

Within the course of this term, Beech House held its assembly on relationships and how they shape a positive school community. Led by Mrs Bragoli, Head of Beech House, who was accompanied by welcoming support from the House Representative, the assembly highlighted the importance of kindness, respect, and empathy in building strong connections. The assembly emphasized how collaboration and mutual support contribute to a thriving school environment.

Cracking the code of maths calculations!

Younger students who struggle with maths had the chance to seek guidance from year 12 experts! Students went through past paper questions, solving mathematical problems, like probability, which was kindly assisted by prefect students, using their thoughtful time to spend their lunch. As a reward from the students, they received free lunch! We continue to strive for ambitious goals and help our students to the best of our abilities.
