Working Together
This powerful theme of the week has been promoted throughout the week in House Assemblies and coincides with a fortnight of Vertical Character Development Programme activities.
Throughout this week and next, across the 7 different Houses in the school, students in Year 7 – 10 and Year 12 are spending Character Development Time in vertical groupings to further strengthen relationships and friendships within the House, but across different year groups.
Throughout the two weeks there is also an added focus on charity fundraising with students working in mixed age groups to promote a charity fundraising idea of their choosing. The Head of House, at the end of the two week programme will decide from 7 different charity fundraising pitches which one could be the focus of fundraising for the House for the rest of the year.
Ash House’s Assembly on Monday was led by Mrs Hughes and reminded students of the real benefits of working together. She also addressed some of the reasons why we sometimes find it difficult. She showed a video of the local Red Trust Foodbank and encouraged all students to consider bringing in just one item for our upcoming Foodbank drive taking place later this term.
It was a very positive way to start the week.
