FOOTBALL
Year 8A Boys v Croxley Danes (District Division 1) AWAY Mr Cartledge
Date: Thursday 17th October 2024
Result: Won 4-1
Scorers: E Rumney 2, R Samin, N Gibson
Squad: O Woodbrock (GK), O Phillips (Capt), N Gibson, C Allan, G Jabarkhail, T Colby, Z Butler, D Henry, R Samin, A Cohen, E Rumney
Commended performances: Whole team
Comment: Despite having a number of squad withdrawals the Year 8 boys made it 3 wins out of 3 in the District League with a comfortable win over Croxley Danes. The boys controlled the game for long periods and showed some improved passing football in the second half. Some well taken goals were the highlight and the boys can be very pleased with their efforts with just a squad of 11 players on a large pitch.
Year 8A Boys v Richard Hale (County Cup) AWAY Mr Cartledge
Date: Tuesday 22nd October 2024
Result: Lost 7-2
Scorers: N Gibson 2
Squad: D Isles (GK), O Phillips (Capt), N Gibson, C Allan, G Jabarkhail, T Colby, Z Butler, D Henry, R Samin, A Cohen, G Fogden, E Rumney
Commended performances: N Gibson
Comment: A really tough draw for the boys being drawn against Richard Hale in the 1st Round of the competition. After a poor start with the boys conceding 3 quick goals the team showed great resilience and effort for the remaining 55 minutes and can be pleased with the improvements both defensively and with the ball as the game went on. Special mention to N Gibson who was outstanding throughout.
NETBALL
Year 11 Girls District Tournament (Parmiters) Mrs Cooper/Mrs Cartledge
Date : Wednesday 16th October 2024
Result : 6th Place – Won 4, Drew 1, Lost 5
Squad : A.Gibson, M.Baines, M.Bazile, L.Qarib, L.Winslett, E.Bird, S.Doran, V.Hill
Commended performances : The whole team for tremendous hard work and some great results.
Comment : WOW! What an exhausting tournament for the year 11 girls.10 x 7 min high intensity matches really had them working hard especially when they came up against teams in the higher league.
The girls acquitted themselves very well, playing some great netball and working hard to the final whistle in every match.
Notable results were back to back 8-0 and 7-0 victories against St.Michaels and The Reach Free respectively. A hard fought 3-1 victory over Rickmansworth who are in the higher league, as well as a 4-4 draw against Queens also in the league above. Then in the final match revenge against WGGS who the girls recently lost to in the league fixture. All of the girls demonstrated excellent levels of skill as well as a commitment and determination to do well. It was an absolute pleasure to take them for their final district tournament.
PE kit
It is essential that students have the full correct PE kit for all lessons. This includes shinpads and black /yellow socks when participating in football lessons and also a pair of white sports socks for all other activities. Students will be reminded when activities change.
