Super Scientists
It was great to visit the science department earlier this week and see our Key Stage 4 students so engaged in lessons, asking and answering great questions and responding to the teachers’ instructions so positively.
The focus in Year 11 lessons is very much on practising examination questions and refining their exam technique to maximise their marks in their upcoming GCSEs.
Year 10s were highly engaged and were using mini whiteboards to respond to a key question being asked by the teacher and then demonstrating their knowledge, enabling the teacher to easily spot the gaps in their learning and address these in the latter part of the lesson.
Science continues to be a core subject on the curriculum and I would encourage all students to complete as much additional work on Sparx Science to build on their learning in school and further develop their understanding in this important subject.
