Stoke Mandeville Sports Festival 2025
On Wednesday, 3rd December, 4 students embarked on an exciting and memorable trip to Stoke Mandeville Stadium, proudly known as “The Birthplace of the Paralympics.” As soon as they arrived, the sense of history and significance of the venue set the tone for a truly inspiring day. The atmosphere buzzed with anticipation as students prepared to take part in a series of disability sports designed to expand their understanding and spark their enthusiasm.

Throughout the day, students rotated through a wide range of activities, each one offering its own unique challenge and sense of accomplishment. Wheelchair Basketball quickly became a favourite for many, allowing students to improve their physical strength and coordination. Others enjoyed the fast-paced nature of Table Tennis and Polybat, discovering new skills and friendly competition along the way.

Later in the day, archery, wheelchair cricket, and shooting offered fresh opportunities for students to challenge themselves. Whether hitting targets in archery or learning the coordination needed for wheelchair cricket, each activity encouraged confidence and perseverance. Staff noted how engaged and enthusiastic the students remained, with many pushing themselves to try something completely new.

To make the day even more memorable, every student received a free Stoke Mandeville trip T-shirt, proudly worn throughout the activities. By the end of the trip, students left the stadium smiling, energised, and full of stories to share. The experience not only taught them about disability sport but also left a lasting impression of enjoyment, inclusion, and achievement.
